The core challenge was to merge two seemingly opposite worlds: the intellectual and strategic rigor of chess with the emotional and chaotic fluidity of a failed romance. We had to create a visual narrative that not only accompanied Juga’s music but translated real technical moves into visual metaphors of passion, loss, and emotional checkmate, all while maintaining the aesthetic elegance required by a setting like Santorini.
We developed an art direction that balances Mediterranean warmth with the geometric coldness of the board. We used a sophisticated animation language to represent the moves as both climatic and emotional events. As a gift for connoisseurs, we hid visual references to chess grandmasters within the composition, transforming the viewing experience into an interactive challenge that rewards the expert eye.
The result is a cult piece that has resonated deeply within both the global chess community and the art world. "Open Files" stands as the third successful collaboration between FEELS and Juga, achieving a visual impact that invites close observation. The piece functions not only as a music video but as a game of discovery that has captivated experts and fans alike.
